Recall of Audrey Kader About Principles -Chistie Hintz

Below is a letter to the editor for the La Crosse Tribune from Tea Party member Christie Hintz. The Tribune refused to print the letter because it was pasted their deadline for letters for the primary election on Tuesday. Tuesday's election is still five days away.

I am deeply saddened by the Audrey Kader recall. There are good citizens of La Crosse that are fighting to preserve our freedom of speech and our ability to let our grievances be known to our city council members. This is not a petty attack on Audrey's personal character or hard work that she has done for city council. But it is a disagreement with Audrey's principles on government and the extra fees that have been put on the citizens of La Crosse. It is true, taxes in La Crosse have not gone up - just added fees. Either way, its money out of pockets. What's even more important to me are the restrictions of our freedoms that we see everywhere in our government from the Federal to State and at our local level. We decided to stand for our rights, the first amendment, at the local level. I believe in the constitution and its principals, even at the local level. I believe in the Republic, not democracy, where each individual has certain rights granted to them by their Creator, not rights granted to them by any individual to be heard or not. If it takes too much time of your life to hear the public, then maybe this isn't the job for you.

Respectfully, Christie Hintz
