"Prohibited Video" Of Audrey Kader Recall Debate

Keith Knutson
Tonight Viterbo University hosted a debate for the city council candidates in the Recall race of La Crosse City President Audrey Kader. I was denied media credentials for LaCrosseWatchdog by flaming statist professor Keith Knutson and told I couldn't film the debate, even though the local CBS affiliate WKBT was allowed to video record the debate. This is not the first time LaCrosseWatchdog bloggers have been harassed for trying to film a public political debate at a University in La Crosse. http://www.lacrossewatchdog.org/search?q=debate

Thanks to La Crosse Tea Party members in the audience LaCrosseWatchdog was able to obtain a "prohibited" recording of the debate (video below). A policy of denying a city council debate open to the public from being filmed is an outrage! While selectively choosing what media outlet is allowed to film. I believe anytime government officials get together and discuss public policy the public has a right to record it.

The recording serves as a record of what actually happened. No way for the mainstream media to manipulate the covering of what actually was said. Being able to record your government is a right that needs to be exercised and LaCrosseWatchdog will continue to hold those in power accountable.

  1. so, who are the candidates we're hearing?

the tea party has good points and motivation, but your rudeness is what gives you a bad name, like kids on the playground that haven't learned how to respect others and debate, while leaving emotions out of it. get a grip and you may be taken seriously

  2. Rudeness? Is forcing a recall rude?

  3. I was there - you were not harassed. I watched your interactions - your representation of the evening was disingenuous at best. The local station did not record audio.
