Open Letter To La Crosse City Council From La Crosse Tea Party
This is an open notice to the La Crosse City Council.
The local TEA Party happily takes credit for our role in the defeat of the City Administrator. You had the deck stacked overwhelmingly in your favor, outspending us and even using your time and position on the job to lobby in favor of this act of disenfranchisement.
The notice is as follows: We will be your babysitter. We will attend your Council meetings to monitor your behavior, and ensure you never sneak this measure through the back door. Especially since certain of you have offered the idea of letting the “dust settle” before making another move.
We may not speak up at the meetings. In fact, you will never know which ones of us are in attendance. Be assured though, we will be there and watching, babysitting. You yourselves made it clear you couldn’t be trusted, and this is the least we can do.
Supporters of this issue can expect challenges in your next election. Not all of us have the desire, money, appetite or time to run for office. However, our voice is not qualified on this ability, as one of you suggested recently on the radio. You look fatigued and frustrated, so we will find you a suitable opponent and relieve you of your burden.
There were many of us who saw through this ploy and understood it for what it was - a political assassination directed at the young mayor for doing the job of an adult. Save the effort to convince us otherwise. Just move along and line up your next career opportunities.
