Campbell Police Block Off Street Enabling Union Bullies (Cops and Teachers) To Harass Dan Kapanke Outside His House After Just Receiving Death Threats

Dictionary Definition of Harass: Subject to aggressive pressure or intimidation.

Aren't the cops supposed to enforce law and order?  Why are the police closing off an entire street, therefore enabling the protesters to harass someone outside their private residence, and also impede traffic flow? Was it a wise decision for the police to assist in a protest at the home of a politician who has just received death threats? Also police stated that people have been throwing nails on Kapanke's driveway and continuously honking their horn as they drive by his house.  Maybe because police don't want to cross the "thin blue line." Outside of Kapanke's home protesting was an off duty Onalaska Police Officer Lisa Gerbig.  News Channel 8 incorrectly reported that Gerbig is a La Crosse Police Officer. One protesting teacher Jon Morschhauser (Longfellow Middle School) admitted that what they were doing "might be viewed as a little intrusive."  This another example of how the police have neglected their duty to enforce the law with the protesters in Madison and throughout the state. Lets compare the police action in dealing with the union protesters to the police action taken against the LaCrosseWatchodog last Oct. for attempting to film a public debate held at UWL. One LaCrosseWatchdog blogger was arrested and fined while another threatened with arrest.

Can you imagine the outrage there would have been from the media if the TEA party would have protested outside Ron Kind's house on French Island after his vote for Obamacare?  I can't envision the French Island Cops making it easy for TEA party protesters to harass Ron Kind outside his home, especially if he would have just received a death threat like Kapanke received. I guess you can't expect to be treated equal by the police when you don't agree with them politically. Police Officers have one of the most powerful positions in society and should remain above politics. Can Dan Kapanke supporters expect to treated fairly from the cops? Are they more likely to be pulled over if they have a Dan Kapanke bumper sticker on their car?

Dan Kapanke gave an interview with FoxNews as the protesters were outside his house.

  1. OK, I'm new around here but is there any law against disturbing the peace or something like that? I I lived next door I'd have called and demanded it be stopped.

  2. Dan Kapanke and at least one other Republican Senator received the following email message which is now under investigation.

    "WE WILL HUNT YOU DOWN.
    WE WILL SLIT YOUR THROATS.
    WE WILL DRINK YOUR BLOOD.
I WILL HAVE YOUR DECAPITATED HEAD ON A PIKE IN THE MADISON TOWN SQUARE.
    THIS IS YOUR LAST WARNING."

Considering that that other Senators and their families have received similar threats, it is inappropriate for the police to allow demonstrators to be harassing even the families of elected officials. There are better places downtown to demonstrate. If the police wanted to put Sen. Kapanke, and maybe his family, in harms way, they couldn't have done a better job than spotlighting his residence.

  3. Excellent point Bridges! I missed that point in my original post.

  4. I think it's atrocious if he and/or other legislators received any kind of threats. I'm suspicious of these threats, though. If the Walker administration would consider placing troublemakers amongst protesters, they would not be beyond sending a bogus threat to one of their own.

As far as the protest in front of Hanky Kapanke's house, they were peaceful, and I'm all for it!

  6. I'm glad they caught them. I'm interested to see who they are. If they were plants, I would not be surprised. If they were whacked-out leftists, I wouldn't be surprised either. There are disturbed people on both sides. In my four weekends protesting in Madison, I never, NEVER heard anyone use violent rhetoric. I even went up to one guy that compared Walker to Hitler, and told him he wasn't helping our cause.

  7. Share your suspicion about the death threats. There is an investigation into the allegations, supposedly. Wonder what they will find & if we will ever know.

  9. Yes, there were several teachers there. Some whose classrooms I've been taught in. One of those men, I won't name, could bore anyone to tears. I couldn't believe he's still in a classroom, with that kind of performance! They were hoping for an audience with Dan, I guess, at least that's what Cheryl Hancock said. She is running for assembly to replace Mike Huebsch. I wonder if this behavior would be welcomed in front of her house. Anyway, Dan has gone out to speak with them at previous events, and they wouldn't stop shouting at him. Now they say He doesn't listen?!

  10. It seems as if everyone takes sides. It is too bad that the police and other local authorities seem to support one side. These are NOT honorable oath keepers!

  11. @ Woody.

I was in Madison too and all I've got to say is that you REALLY should schedule an appointment with an Otologist (Ear Doctor). You obviously have some sort of hearing loss if you didn't hear the Hatred & Vitriol that was being shouted by teachers, firefighters, and police officers.

  12. I wish Walker wasn't scared to say he screwed up.. That's what is wrong with people today.. So many people in power are scared to say hey I'm wrong your right or maybe I should of done it different. I would vote for anybody who could say they have done wrong but plan to fix it.
